After hearing about these struggles from a surgeon friend and speaking with more surgeons and dentists, we discovered how common (and accepted as ‘just part of the job’) pain is in these industries. Many professionals dedicated to caring for others were neglecting their own health.
We noticed a pattern, everyone was leaning forward, making backrests useless. That’s when we had the idea for a front support. We couldn’t understand how this didn’t exist yet. And so, Orbital Support Systems was born.
Working alongside dental and surgical professionals, we designed a full-body ergonomic support system including a chest support, armrests, and a saddle seat, all designed and made here in Canada with high-quality, meticulously sourced materials. We want to encourage people to be proactive with their body health, and help people who are already in pain to continue doing what they love at work and beyond.
Over the past decade, we’ve helped countless dentists and surgeons avoid early retirement and regain comfort at work. Word spread fast to estheticians, tattoo artists, assembly workers, veterinarians, office workers, and more. We were shocked at the extent of industries that were all struggling with the same issues.
Today, we’re not just selling ergonomic chairs. We’re on a mission to evolve how people think about daily ergonomics and advocate for better workplace health.
